About the role
DTI are currently seeking a Senior Strategy Analyst to deliver high-quality market intelligence and commercial analysis to support evidence-based decision making across DTI’s strategy, business development and growth activities.
The role monitors and interprets economic, budget, policy, regulatory, sector, client and competitor developments; converts data into practical insights; and supports analysis of pipeline and business development performance through Salesforce and other corporate systems.
The Senior Strategy Analyst also provides analytical support for corporate strategy, market entry, special projects and potential mergers and acquisitions as priorities develop.
Key responsibilities include
- Monitor and analyse relevant Federal and State budgets, policy and regulatory developments, economic indicators, infrastructure pipelines and sector trends.
- Assess the implications of market developments for DTI’s target sectors, geographies, clients, competitors and growth priorities.
- Maintain structured market, client, competitor and project datasets, trackers and intelligence repositories.
- Prepare concise briefings, dashboards, presentations and ad hoc research for the Strategy team, Executive and Business Units.
- Ensure analysis is evidence-based, current, clearly sourced and translated into practical commercial insights.
- Analyse Salesforce pipeline, pursuit and performance data, including stage progression, conversion, win/loss outcomes, client, sector and geographic trends.
- Support market sizing, sector strategies, strategic reviews, business cases and assessment of new growth opportunities.
- Undertake commercial, financial and competitor analysis for special projects, partnerships and potential market entry initiatives.
Preferred experience/qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Analytics or a related discipline (required).
- Postgraduate qualification, CA/CPA/CFA studies or relevant analytics qualification desirable.
- Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen.
- Approximately 3-5 years’ relevant experience in a Big 4 firm, management consultancy, economic or market research organisation, corporate strategy team or similar analytical role.
- Experience researching and interpreting economic, policy, budget, regulatory and market information.
- Demonstrated experience analysing datasets and presenting findings to senior stakeholders in a clear and decision-useful format.
- Experience with infrastructure, construction, energy, transport or government markets desirable.
- Experience with Salesforce analytics, business intelligence tools or M&A / transaction support desirable.
