The Role


We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Procurement Advisor to support the delivery of complex infrastructure projects. This role will report to the NSW Procurement Manager and will focus on pre-contract and project procurement, including end-to-end sourcing, evaluation and supplier management. You will be working on high-value construction, civil and renewable energy projects with exposure to both public and private sector delivery models.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement best practice, particularly in the context of large-scale infrastructure projects and government procurement frameworks, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage procurement activities for assigned infrastructure projects, from EOIs through to RFT’s and project delivery.
  • Support in the preparation of procurement documentation such as scopes of work, tender schedules, evaluation frameworks, and market briefings.
  • Coordinate supplier engagement, tender evaluations and negotiation processes.
  • Ensure procurement activity aligns with NSW Government and internal governance requirements (where required).
  • Support the development of procurement strategies, risk assessments, and market analysis reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support probity and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, legal, commercial and delivery to align procurement with project goals.
  • Provide input into continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Procurement experience, preferably in infrastructure, construction, energy, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement and contract formation processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with or understanding of NSW Government procurement policies, frameworks, and compliance requirements including social and indigenous procurement requirements.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, Felix, or similar is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with ability to manage complex procurement schedules and documentation.
  • Ability to travel to site locations as required.

 

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in procurement
  • Evidence of successfully managing complex tenders and negotiations
  • Well-developed skills in communicating complex themes effectively to diverse audiences
  • An outside the box thinker who can look for ways to improve procurement processes
  • Ability to adopt a pragmatic approach to drive efficiency and prioritise work with impactIdeally a tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or Engineering
