The Opportunity
Are you ready to take ownership of high-impact infrastructure projects? DT Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned professional to drive commercial competitiveness and technical precision across our national portfolio.
As we continue to grow—including our recent expansion into renewables, you will play a key role in shaping our future. You will not only deliver robust estimates but also mentor the next generation of talent, contributing to a culture of excellence and collaborative teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Deliver: Manage end-to-end electrical estimates for renewable projects (Solar and Wind), ensuring meticulous accuracy across labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages.
- Strategy & Risk: Develop winning tender strategies, identify project risks and opportunities, and ensure every bid aligns with client objectives and DTI’s high standards.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise and review take-offs, vendor submissions, and RFIs to guarantee technical robustness and commercial compliance.
- Develop Our People: Actively mentor junior estimators, providing the guidance and support needed to elevate team performance and output quality.
- Process Excellence: Maintain data integrity in pricing models and navigate post-submission clarifications in full compliance with DTI’s Internal Management System (IMS) and statutory requirements.
About You
- 10+ years of dedicated electrical estimating experience, with a proven track record in complex, multi-disciplinary renewable energy projects.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in detailed engineering, construction methodologies, and project scheduling.
- Systems Proficiency: Advanced skill in estimating software, databases, and the MS Office suite; capable of managing high-volume data to produce clear, actionable reports.
- Leadership: A self-starter who embraces our values, thrives in a team environment, and makes sound, practical decisions under the pressure of tender deadlines.
- Communication: An open, honest communicator who enjoys breaking down silos to get the best result for the project.
Working for DTI
- Competitive pay that reflects your contribution: We reward performance and impact, with our remuneration benchmarked to market.
- Purpose-driven careers in infrastructure: As we grow our presence in the renewable energy sector, DTI is also continuing to cement its position as a delivery partner of choice across rail, roads and Defence infrastructure projects. Our teams benefit from the variety of opportunities, applying their skills and experience across multiple sectors.
- Fostering your development: We’ve developed a culture where continuous learning is front and centre of everything we do. Fostering the growth and development of our people is key to our success and ensuring that we are preparing the next generation of leaders is a core focus for our business.
- Parental leave designed for the reality of family life: Our industry leading parental leave policies are centred on flexibility to support modern family life, because at DTI, little families are a part of our one big family.
- Flexibility that works for you and for us: We acknowledge that everyone’s needs are different in striking the right work-life integration. Whether it’s hybrid working, adjusted hours, job sharing or balancing family commitments, we’ll work together to make it work.
This exciting role offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and to develop your career within a highly successful organisation.
