As the Snr Design Coordinator, you will report to the Engineering Manager to coordinate engineering governance, temporary works, systems, and assurance disciplines across the project; ensuring effective, safe, and compliant delivery of construction activities through disciplined engineering control. Coordination of the design process, design assurance, and third-party engineering interfaces to protect people, assets, and programme outcomes on a major infrastructure project.

 

 

Your daily responsibilities will have you,

  • Lead engineering frameworks, procedures, and assurance systems across the project
  • Establish clear design control, verification, and approval pathways
  • Maintain audit-defensible engineering records and registers
  • Ensure consistent application of engineering standards and project specifications
  • Oversee the design change and technical query process
  • Review and challenge engineering designs for constructability and risk
  • Ensure design intent is maintained through delivery
  • Manage interfaces with third-party designers and engineering consultants
  • Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, codes of practice, and Australian Standards
  • Lead engineering risk assessments and critical risk reviews

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Systems, or related)
  • Work towards CPEng or equivalent chartered status highly desirable
  • 8+ years’ senior engineering experience on major infrastructure or construction projects
  • Demonstrated onsite engineering experience for temporary works or construction engineering assurance
  • Experience in design review, change control, and engineering governance
  • Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams in complex delivery environments
  • Understanding of temporary works systems and construction engineering principles
  • Ability to review, interpret, and challenge engineering designs and methodologies
  • Sound knowledge of engineering governance, design assurance, and change control processes
