The Role

 

This is a new permanent position to join a Sydney based project where you will report to the Senior Commercial Manager and take responsibility for the efficient and effective analysis control and reporting of project costs aligned to program throughout the lifecycle of the project.

 

  • Manage the actual costs, the forecast process, and reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Attend relevant presentations and workshops
  • Support the Project Managers in the development of their cost forecasts.
  • Monthly finalisation of actual and forecast cost, project valuation, financial reporting and cash flow
  • Provide monthly accruals, journal corrections, and other required financial information
  • Involvement in the monthly Project Valuation (PV).
  • Improve cost management processes that clearly link cost, scope, progress and performance reporting
  • Prepare and/or contribute to month‑end commercial reports and dashboards, and escalate variances, risks and opportunities

 

About You

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, finance, construction management, project management 
  • 5+ years’ experience in Cost Controller  or Quantity Surveying role
  • Construction experience, CANDY & SAP highly desirable
  • Proven experience in managing project performance and reporting using Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Proven experience in SAP (or other ERP System), estimating systems (or similar), Excel (advanced preferable).
  • Knowledge of a Contract to understand scope, price, milestones, contractual relationships between parties
