Key Responsibilities
We have a current opportunity for a road designer who will be reporting to the project traffic manager. The objective is to deliver high-quality traffic management and road safety designs using advanced CAD software, while leading a team of drafters and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance, efficiency, and project success
Key responsibilities and overall experience will include but not limited to the following,
• Use AutoCAD, 12D, Civil 3D, and Open Roads to create technical drawings and designs for construction, adhering to time schedules, budgets, and performance criteria
• Provide technical advice to design and construction teams on road safety, traffic management, and staging of road works
• Maintain CAD standards, systems, and procedures, preserving all backup documentation
• Experience in developing road design including vertical and horizontal alignments, cross sections and swept path analysis.
• Knowledge of relevant TfNSW and local council requirements road design standards
• Ability to liaise effectively with construction and traffic engineers
• Strong team collaboration skills within an established team environment
Qualifications
- BEng (Hons.) Civil Engineering & MSc Civil Engineering
Skills & Abilities
• In-depth knowledge of AutoCAD drafting software
• Familiarity with 12D, Civil 3D, and Open Roads software
• Ability to complete design reports
• 3–5 years’ experience in Tier 1 construction, engineering, traffic, road safety, or relevant work experience
• Proven experience in traffic management and road safety
