The Role

Reporting to the Project Director we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on a major utility‑scale solar farm. This is a career‑defining opportunity to play a key role in Australia’s accelerating transition to clean energy.
As the Project Manager, you will have full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and execution of all BESS‑related construction activities.
You will work closely with contractors, grid specialists, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This is a Site-based position (DIDO) on a major renewable energy construction project with a rostered working arrangement (14/7), with accommodation and allowances provided as applicable. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day management of the BESS construction scope, including civil, electrical and integration works
  • Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality and compliance
  • Drive project planning, risk management, scheduling, and cost control
  • Coordinate grid connection activities and support commissioning and testing processes
  • Maintain rigorous safety standards and foster a strong safety culture across site
  • Manage stakeholder communication including reporting to senior leadership
  • Ensure all project milestones are met and documentation is delivered to required standards

 


About You

  • Degree Qualified with 10+ years experience
  • Proven experience managing large‑scale renewable energy, BESS, or complex electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of HV electrical systems, battery technology, and grid integration
  • Demonstrated capability in contractor management and delivering major infrastructure safely
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • A hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach and ability to navigate fast‑moving project environments
