The Role

Are you a seasoned estimating leader ready to shape the future of Australia’s infrastructure and renewable energy landscape?

DT Infrastructure is seeking a pivotal Estimating Manager (Electrical / Renewables) to lead the delivery of technically precise, commercially competitive project estimates nationwide. Based in either Sydney or Brisbane, you will champion our estimating function across major solar, wind, and multi-disciplinary electrical infrastructure tenders, ensuring we secure high-value projects aligned with top-tier technical and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Tendering: Lead and manage comprehensive electrical estimates for large-scale renewable projects (Solar & Wind), ensuring meticulous accuracy across labor, materials, plant, and subcontractor costs.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Develop robust tender strategies, proactively identifying commercial risks and value-engineering opportunities to give DTI a competitive edge.
  • Oversight & Compliance: Supervise and rigorously review material take-offs, vendor submissions, and Requests for Information (RFIs) to guarantee technical robustness and strict compliance.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and consistent, high-quality output.
  • Data & Governance: Manage estimating data, pricing models, and post-submission client clarifications in strict alignment with DTI policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

About You

  • To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of technical mastery, commercial sharp-wittedness, and strong leadership capabilities:
  • Industry Expertise: 12+ years of dedicated experience in Electrical and Renewables estimating, with a proven track record in multi-disciplinary infrastructure tenders.
  • Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of detailed engineering, planning, scheduling, and modern construction methodologies.
  • Software Fluency: Highly skilled in industry-standard estimating software, complex databases, and Advanced MS Excel to manage large data volumes and generate accurate financial reports.
  • Leadership Character: An initiative-driven, self-motivated leader who communicates effectively, builds cohesive teams, and makes sound, practical decisions under tight tender deadlines.

Working for DTI

  • Competitive pay that reflects your contribution: We reward performance and impact, with our remuneration benchmarked to market.
  • Purpose-driven careers in infrastructure: As we grow our presence in the renewable energy sector, DTI is also continuing to cement its position as a delivery partner of choice across rail, roads and Defence infrastructure projects. Our teams benefit from the variety of opportunities, applying their skills and experience across multiple sectors.
  • Fostering your development: We’ve developed a culture where continuous learning is front and centre of everything we do. Fostering the growth and development of our people is key to our success and ensuring that we are preparing the next generation of leaders is a core focus for our business.
  • Parental leave designed for the reality of family life: Our industry leading parental leave policies are centred on flexibility to support modern family life, because at DTI, little families are a part of our one big family.
  • Flexibility that works for you and for us: We acknowledge that everyone’s needs are different in striking the right work-life integration. Whether it’s hybrid working, adjusted hours, job sharing or balancing family commitments, we’ll work together to make it work.

This exciting role offers you the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and to develop your career within a highly successful organisation.
