The Opportunity

Reporting to the Project Director we are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager  to combine technical expertise in Electrical, Civil and Mechanical engineering with a strong grasp of solar-specific technologies and project management. You will be able to demonstrate coordination of multidisciplinary teams, navigating regulatory frameworks, to deliver project scope on time, within budget, and to performance specifications. You will have demonstrated experience in the delivery of major infrastructure within the renewables, LNG and or Oil & Gas sectors which has given you an appreciation of the challenges that come with working in these technically challenging and highly regulated environments.

This is a site-based position on a major renewable energy construction project in the Upper Hunter Valley, with a rostered working arrangement (14/7), with accommodation and allowances provided as applicable. 

 

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to,

 

  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and interface all engineering disciplines.
  • Coordinate tasks to align with project milestones and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Oversee design and implementation of key components across, Electrical, Civil & Mechanical.
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
  • Address and resolve issues during design, construction, or commissioning phases

 

This role demands strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex, large-scale projects while balancing cost, quality, and timelines.

About You

  • Degree Qualifications in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years Experience in the Delivery of Utility Scale Solar Farms or other significant infrastructure i.e.LNG plant
  • Well-developed people management skills
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer focus ensuring profitable repeat business
  • Organising and planning skills
  • Cost control and budgeting skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of quality systems
