The Role
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager we are looking for a sharp, highly experienced Contracts Manager to join our commercial team and drive the end-to-end procurement and subcontract management for the project.
Taking personal ownership of the project's commercial success, you will manage subcontracts from cradle to grave. You will ensure that head contract obligations are seamlessly passed down, risks are strictly mitigated, and commercial administration runs flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities & Scope:
- Drive the procurement and negotiation of subcontracts for major EPC and O&M contracts, strictly adhering to Approved Subcontractor Lists and Principal head contract pass-down requirements.
- Meticulously review documentation to ensure commercial terms are clearly defined and fully aligned with Head Contract obligations.
- Ensure Head Contract obligations and risk allocations are clearly passed down into subcontracts—specifically covering warranties, defects, IP, Liquidated Damages (LDs), securities, and Principal-mandated provisions.
- Manage and report on negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, covering securities (bank guarantees/retentions), liability caps, insurances, and relief provisions.
- Proactively identify, document, and report any gaps between upstream and downstream obligations.
- Maintain accurate registers and prepare comprehensive internal governance reports for Senior Leadership review and approval.
- Manage day-to-day commercial administration of subcontracts and suppliers, including notices, payment claims, variations, Extensions of Time (EOTs), claims, disputes, and escalations.
- Work closely with internal engineering, legal, and finance teams to ensure strict compliance with project requirements, internal governance, and lessons learned.
About You
You are someone who "walks the talk" and thrives in a collaborative environment where open, honest communication is valued. To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary Qualified
- 5–10 years of dedicated commercial or contracts management experience.
- Strong local market experience, ideally within the major infrastructure, renewables sectors.
- Proven expertise in managing complex EPC and O&M contracts.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and a keen eye for mitigating commercial risk.
- The ability to demonstrate real teamwork, breaking down silos to work effectively across different divisions.
