The Role
The Social Impact Manager will support the tender process and project delivery by providing strategic advice, partnership, program and initiative development and stakeholder engagement to ensure DTI are meeting and exceeding client and government requirements.
Key to success for this role will be to build and maintain relationships across internal stakeholders, Community organisations, First Nations & Social enterprise businesses, job agencies, and other relevant partners. While the role focuses on supporting key tenders and project delivery in a specific region, it is also part of a national team delivering an organisation-wide Social Impact strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Understand and support delivery of the Social Impact and People strategic plans.
Advise and support tenders and project teams with compliance/development needs, employment targets to meet project requirements / priorities, build strategies to meet procurement targets for local, First Nations and social enterprise businesses.
Build and maintain effective relationships to manage client expectations including, as directed, attending client meetings and presentations, industry briefings and networking.
Work collegiately with the Social Impact network and specialist functions across the business including Procurement, HR, Marketing & Comms, Stakeholders and Submissions.
Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the Social Impact Strategic Plan.
Build organisational capability to foster increased cultural competence, diversity, and inclusive business performance.
Increase employment outcomes for the attraction and selection of First Nations employees and other cohorts including people with disability, CALD communities, females and young people.
Develop and maintain strong relationships within Aboriginal Traditional Owner groups, Aboriginal organisations, Land Councils and other affiliated community organisations.
About You
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline preferred (HR, Community Development, Business)
A good working knowledge of Queensland Social Policy
Experience in the delivery of community-oriented programs, particularly in relation to First Nations people and communities, CALD communities, and other cohorts experiencing disadvantage.
Demonstrable understanding of State and Federal policies and funding models relating to Social Impact and Aboriginal Engagement
Experience working with or within project-based environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including government clients.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across a portfolio of work.
