THE ROLE
We are now seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a landmark renewable energy project - Boulder Creek Wind Farm located near Rockhampton, Queensland.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and delivering key electrical components, including substation construction works, transmission line systems, and comprehensive electrical network reviews.
Drive in Drive out roster (local residents only) - 5days on, 2days off.
Fly in Fly out roster (East Coast based residents) – 10days on, 4days off.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct electrical design reviews to ensure alignment with project specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
- Manage the construction of a substation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and project-specific standards.
- Supervise and coordinate construction of a high-voltage transmission line for transmitting power from the wind farm to the grid.
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to achieve seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Identify and mitigate risks during construction and commissioning phases of electrical infrastructure.
- Optimize the performance of high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems, including grid connections.
- Prepare technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, and project reports.
- Ensure all work adheres to Australian safety, quality, and environmental standards.
ABOUT YOU
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience with substation projects, transmission line works, or large-scale infrastructure, preferably in renewable energy.
- Strong technical knowledge of HV/MV systems, grid connections, and power distribution networks.
- Familiarity with Australian electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
