As the National Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the primary objective will be to promote and facilitate effective development, implementation, and oversee environmental and sustainability strategies that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, drive continuous improvement, and align with DTI’s business objectives.
This includes integrating sustainable practices across operations, minimising environmental impact, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, and ensuring adherence to ISO 14001 and other relevant standards. This role also involves stakeholder engagement, risk management, and reporting on environmental performance to support long-term sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic leadership in developing and executing environmental and sustainability initiatives that align with DTI objectives.
- Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement in environmental performance, and integrating sustainability principles into DTI operations.
- Maintain transparency win environmental performance reporting, aligning sustainability initiatives with client objectives, and demonstrating value through measurable environmental and social benefits to building a long-term and successful partnerships.
- Foster positive and collaborative work culture setting clear expectations and ensuring team member are equipped with the necessary skills, training, and resources.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirement and DTI commitments.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in the fields of Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related discipline.
- 7 - 10 years of experience in environmental and sustainability management, ideally within construction, infrastructure, energy, or related industries.
- Extensive experience in program development and strategic planning, ensuring effective implementation.
- Experience in strategy development and development of processes and systems to underpin the operation of the department.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance including in knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, ISO 14001, and sustainability framework.
