THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to manage the delivery of environment and approval requirements for renewable energy, transport infrastructure and civil construction projects in Central Queensland.
This is a fulltime permanent position. FIFO roster of 10days on, 4days off.
Offering Salary + Uplift + allowances + flights + accommodation.
You will provide professional and qualified advice to project managers, senior operational management and our customers while supporting key site environmental personnel, with a particular focus on project personnel responsible for delivery of Conditions of approval relating to Environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Project Manager deliver environment and approvals performance
- Deliver technical advice on environment and approvals matters pertaining to the project
- Field based compliance inspections, implement environment strategies and providing a value-added support service, while maintaining compliance with internal, legislative and client requirements
- Assist environmental performance across DT Infrastructure in general
- Continually identifying improvement opportunities and act upon these to provide the Project Managers with industry leading solutions
Skills & Abilities
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Energy, Management, Sustainability or similar
- Proven experience in an equivalent QLD Environmental Compliance or Environmental Management role within complex greenfield major construction projects
- In depth understanding of EPBC and State Post Approval requirements
- Strong grasp of erosion and sediment control design and implementation (CPESC highly desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide guidance for all levels of staff and managers
- Demonstrated success in providing environmental initiatives and achieving environmental outcomes as part of a team
- Effective planning, time management and organisational skills
