About the Role

 

We are excited to offer a remarkable career opportunity in Queensland, starting in our Milton, Brisbane office and transitioning to a regional project on a FIFO (Fly In, Fly Out) basis. We invite Expressions of Interest for a Design Manager ready to elevate their career and contribute to our dynamic team. The Design Manager will oversee all aspects of engineering design within the project scope, including managing design consultants. This role includes the crucial responsibility of ensuring the integration of design and construction while driving value-for-money outcomes. The Design Manager is also accountable for compliance with all relevant contractual obligations, including design assurance, systems engineering, manufacturing liaison, configuration control, systems assurance, materials compliance, and engineering changes. Additionally, the Design Manager will be responsible for implementing effective systems to achieve defined business objectives while ensuring overall compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop strategic alliances with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Must have experience across either Renewables or Rail/Buildings construction projects.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction for the business unit in line with the DTI strategy, with appropriate contributions from relevant team members;
  • Conduct regular reviews against plan and budget, taking action required to ensure financial objectives are achieved

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Minimum of 12 plus years of experience post degree completion
  • Engineering or related qualifications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Relevant computer literacy skills
  • 3D CAD system experience
  • Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of DTI Engineering’s policies, procedures and guidelines as well as relevant legislation
