The Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Surveyor to join the delivery team on the Goulburn River Solar Project. This is a Site-based position (DIDO) on a major renewable energy construction project with a 2/1 rostered working arrangement, with accommodation and allowances provided as applicable.
You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely survey support across all phases of the project, including set-out for civil works, piling, laydown areas, and validation of construction activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring construction is executed in accordance with design specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

•    Conduct survey set-out for civil and structural works, including roads, drainage, foundations, and services.
•    Manage bulk earthworks survey requirements, ensuring accurate cut/fill data and verification of finished surfaces.
•    Provide piling set-out for tracker installation, ensuring precision in alignment and location to meet solar array design specifications.
•    Set out and verify laydown areas, access roads, and temporary facilities to support construction logistics.
•    Perform as-built surveys and prepare records for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
•    Verify and adjust survey data using GNSS, total stations, and digital levels, ensuring consistency with design models and IFC drawings.
•    Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to resolve discrepancies between design and field conditions.
•    Maintain survey equipment and manage digital data, including backups and integration into project management systems.
•    Assist with preparation and submission of survey reports, records, and documentation for handover and quality control.
•    Adhere to all site safety protocols and ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards.

About You

•    Tertiary qualifications in Surveying, Geospatial Science, or related discipline.
•    Minimum 3–5 years of civil construction surveying experience, preferably on utility-scale solar or infrastructure projects.
•    Proficiency in using surveying instruments and software (e.g., Leica, Trimble, AutoCAD Civil 3D, 12d, or similar).
•    Strong understanding of earthworks processes and structural layout requirements.
•    Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and digital terrain models.
•    High level of attention to detail and accuracy in survey measurement and data handling.
•    Valid driver’s license and ability to work in a remote or regional project setting.
•    White Card (Construction Induction) required.
•    Previous experience on renewable energy projects or solar farms.
•    Familiarity with machine control systems and survey data integration.
