The Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Planner, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of a major utility-scale solar farm. In this site-based position, you will be the driving force behind our project schedules, ensuring resources are optimised, budgets are monitored, and teams are aligned. You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and support teams to keep the project on track and aligned with DTI's high standards.
This is a Site-based position (DIDO) on a major renewable energy construction project with a rostered working arrangement (14/7), with accommodation and allowances provided as applicable

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, generate, and maintain ongoing project schedules and associated resource forecasts.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to develop and implement the master Project Schedule. Assist in the development of new schedules by actively interacting with Project Managers and Engineers to secure accurate progress information.
  • Perform resource levelling to ensure constant and efficient resource utilization. Implement corrective measures to proactively address any negative variances to the budget.
  • Liaise with project and support department employees regarding supply, purchasing, plant and equipment, safety, and financial requirements related to planning and scheduling.
  • Work within standard planning/scheduling procedures to ensure requirements are fulfilled, developing additional project-specific procedures where necessary. Conduct all business in accordance with relevant DTI requirements and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate written notes and records to support all project updates.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Civil/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience using Primavera P6 and a strong overall proficiency with modern planning and scheduling tools.
  • A background in site-based planning, preferably within utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to take personal ownership of your results.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to adopt open, honest communication and demonstrate real teamwork across various departments and disciplines.

Working for DTI

  • Competitive pay that reflects your contribution: We reward performance and impact, with our remuneration benchmarked to market.
  • Purpose-driven careers in infrastructure: As we grow our presence in the renewable energy sector, DTI is also continuing to cement its position as a delivery partner of choice across rail, roads and Defence infrastructure projects. Our teams benefit from the variety of opportunities, applying their skills and experience across multiple sectors.
  • Fostering your development: We’ve developed a culture where continuous learning is front and centre of everything we do. Fostering the growth and development of our people is key to our success and ensuring that we are preparing the next generation of leaders is a core focus for our business.
  • Parental leave designed for the reality of family life: Our industry leading parental leave policies are centred on flexibility to support modern family life, because at DTI, little families are a part of our one big family.
  • Flexibility that works for you and for us: We acknowledge that everyone’s needs are different in striking the right work-life integration. Whether it’s hybrid working, adjusted hours, job sharing or balancing family commitments, we’ll work together to make it work.
