About the role:


We are seeking a Senior People Advisor to play a key role in the daily operations of a multi-state business unit and be a part of implementing strategic initiatives enabling the business to achieve its goals.

Based in our Melbourne CBD office, the Senior People Advisor operates autonomously supporting DTI's Rail business projects located in VIC, TAS, NSW & SA. Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Provide advice on all facets of human resources including performance, employee development and engagement, employee relations, Enterprise Agreement interpretation and contract, policy & industrial instrument interpretation.
  • Coordinate monthly and annual people processes (employee changes, allowances, remuneration and workforce planning activities etc.).
  • Manage ER and IR matters with the support of the People Manager where required.
  • Build strong working relationships with all key internal stakeholders for the purpose of coaching on HR practices.

Experience and capabilities:

 

  • Demonstrable and successful ‘hands on’ experience in a relevant Senior HR Advisor role operating as an effective HR professional and being viewed as a credible, trusted Advisor.
  • Knowledge and a sound understanding of contemporary HR management and workplace relations and the ability to manage employee relations matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a wide knowledge and understanding of the business environment and strategies and translating these into specific HR strategies and actions.
  • Previous experience with Tier 1 Contractors in the Rail/Infrastructure sector is highly desirable.
