About the role

DTI and our affiliate entity, Tunnelling Solutions, are seeking Senior Estimators/Estimating Manager to support the business by ensuring accurate estimates of the total cost of projects are completed on time and in accordance with required technical and company standards for DT Infrastructure and affiliate companies within Gamuda Group.

With opportunities based in Melbourne and Brisbane, this is a pivotal role for someone with a strong background in civil and rail estimating to join a talented team and deliver technically precise, commercially competitive project estimates.

Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Lead and manage civil infrastructure estimates, including rail, roads, and water projects, ensuring accuracy in labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor costs.
  • Develop and implement tender strategies, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure alignment with client deliverables and project objectives.
  • Supervise and review take-offs, subcontractor/vendor submissions, and Requests for Information (RFI) to ensure compliance, accuracy, and technical robustness.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop estimating team members, providing guidance to achieve high-quality output and consistent delivery.
  • Manage estimating data, pricing models, and post-submission client clarifications, ensuring compliance with DTI policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

 

About You
 

  • 10+ years’ experience in civil construction estimating.
  • Proven experience in rail and civil infrastructure projects, including tendering and estimating for multi-disciplinary works.
  • Strong technical knowledge of detailed engineering, planning, scheduling, and construction methodologies.
  • Skilled in estimating software, databases, and MS Office, able to manage large volumes of data and prepare accurate reports.
  • Initiative-driven, self-motivated, and a strong team leader and communicator who can make practical, sound decisions under pressure.
