About the role
Looking for a role where your rail expertise can influence more than just one project?
DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Track & Civil to join our Rail team, based in our Melbourne office.
Working across a portfolio of current and upcoming rail projects, you'll provide senior technical and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle – from pre-contracts and work winning through design, delivery and technical assurance. You'll lead the development of Track and Civil engineering solutions, coordinate consultants and designers, review technical proposals and help ensure engineering risks are understood and effectively managed.
Rather than being embedded on a single project, this role offers the opportunity to work across the broader Rail business, partnering with project teams, clients and engineering specialists to solve complex technical challenges and influence how our projects are designed and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and integration of Track and Civil engineering solutions across rail proposals and projects
- Coordinate internal and external design activities, ensuring solutions meet project scope, budget, standards and client requirements
- Review and challenge technical proposals, designs and engineering decisions to effectively manage technical risk
- Support pre-contracts and work winning teams with technical input, constructability and engineering solutions for upcoming opportunities
- Manage engineering consultants and technical partners, including their technical and commercial obligations
- Drive technical assurance, design compliance and continuous improvement across Track and Civil engineering activities
About You
- Degree qualified Engineer with 10+ years' post-graduate experience, including significant experience within rail infrastructure
- Minimum 5 years' experience leading engineering activities and technical management across project delivery phases
- Strong Track and Civil engineering expertise with experience across medium to large transport infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience in design management, technical assurance, engineering standards and multidisciplinary interfaces
- Strong understanding of rail project delivery, contractual structures, systems engineering and rail safety assurance
- Confident communicator and technical leader who can build strong relationships with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams
