About the role
DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Planning and Project Controls Manager to support our National Rail Business.
This role is responsible for managing the planning interfaces with key internal and external stakeholders and integration across project activities. The role will also ensure that best practice standards in cost engineering and time management processes are achieved through managing the project controls system and reporting process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for preparation of detailed project programs and baseline schedules on time & in consultation with estimators, for tenders prepared for Rail Projects.
- Deal effectively and appropriately with subcontractors and estimating team members to obtain “best for project” schedules and plans.
- Review subcontractors' construction programmes and other 3rd Party programmes against the master Project Programmes and assess their impacts.
- Conversant with project complexity and client requirements and be able to identify schedule related risks and opportunities in the process. Review with Bid Manager and / or Estimating Manager prior to submission.
- Convert estimate plans and schedules to operational status by working with Operations Managers and Project Managers. Identify schedule related risks and opportunities in the process.
Experience and capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business or technical qualifications in a related discipline preferred.
- Rail, building or infrastructure/resource project experience.
- Familiar with estimating and project management procedures and their implementation, and a willingness to conform to DTIs procedures.
- Demonstrable experience and excellence in project controls.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of documents.
- Demonstrated experience managing stakeholder management both internal and external on a complex project.
