About the role

 

DT Infrastructure, as part of the TasVic Greenlink joint venture with Samsung C&T Corporation Australia, has been awarded the contract to deliver the Balance of Works package for Marinus Link Stage 1.

 

We are seeking a Digital Engineering Manager to support the delivery of DE outcomes on the TasVic Greenlink joint venture. The Digital Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and embedding Digital Engineering (DE) across the Marinus Link Project to support the successful delivery of a complex HVDC transmission infrastructure project across multiple jurisdictions.

 

This is a hands-on, project-embedded role focused on coordinating DE deliverables across designers, contractors and alliance partners, ensuring compliance with project information requirements, DE execution plans and relevant international standards.

Key responsibilities include

 

  • Driving the stakeholder teams to shift focus from 2D to 3D decision making and deliverables.
  • Work with delivery partners to guide the standardised development of interoperable, geospatially accurate 2D and 3D models which are federated and coordinated, ensuring interoperability between GIS, CAD and BIM data exchanges.
  • Drive quality DE practices and uptake across the project office.
  • Develop standards for DE deliverables for the program office, including setting up requirements for BIM, CAD and GIS protocols and work with the DE Information Manager to define the requirements across project life cycle and phases, for inclusion into contracts.
  • Assuring high quality DE practices and deliverables (CAD, GIS, BIM) for complex projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Review DE contractual documents from delivery partners and assure compliance requirements.
  • Review and ensure deliverables are compliant with agreed DE requirements and are suitable for the whole asset lifecycle.

Experience and capabilities

 

  • Demonstrated experience in using DE tools and associated processes, supporting effective communication, coordination and information exchange between all project stakeholders through all stages of the project.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up and delivering DE projects using CAD,GIS and BIM including the associated standards (DE Execution Plans), procedures and technical protocols in collaboration with design consultants, subcontractors and the delivery team.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and integrating various models from different contractors, throughout project lifecycle phases.
  • Engineering or related tertiary qualification/s.
  • +10 years relevant experience in leading engineering teams.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of DT Infrastructure Engineering’s policies, procedures and guidelines as well as relevant legislation.
