About the role
DT Infrastructure, as part of the TasVic Greenlink joint venture with Samsung C&T Corporation Australia, has been awarded the contract to deliver the Balance of Works package for Marinus Link Stage 1.
With a strong pipeline of work in renewable energy projects, we are seeking a high-calibre Contracts Manager (Downstream) in VIC to join us on this once-in-a-generation project. You will work collaboratively with the project delivery team and be responsible for the management and cost-effective execution of specific contracts, ensuring full compliance with technical programs, environmental standards, and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the planning, procurement, management and administration of specific contracts to ensure cost-effective, on-schedule project delivery.
- Act as the primary commercial contact for subcontracts, negotiating contract terms, variations, and quotes to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Establish, negotiate, manage and administer subcontract and supplier agreements, ensuring clear scopes of work and defined payment terms.
- Monitor project costs, track budget deviations, delays and extensions of time and implement corrective actions to protect commercial margins.
- Appoint and resource project teams, providing direction and mentorship to Works Supervisors regarding contract and financial data.
- Partner with SEQ representatives to ensure safety regulations are implemented, manage risk, and investigate site incidents to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and execute the Project Execution Plan, ensuring all staff and subcontractors are inducted and compliant with company procedures.
Experience and capabilities:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Law or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in contract management for large infrastructure projects.
- Strong skills in all stages of the contract management lifecycle including planning, procuring, negotiating and administering construction contracts.
- Solid understanding of commercial conditions, contract management, and valuation of payment and contract claims including assessment of delay and extensions of time.
- Specific skill and experience in the drafting and negotiation of complex construction subcontract arrangements will be highly regarded.
- Ability to analyze financial data, risk, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to manage, mentor, and develop a team.
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively mitigate project risks.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office and industry software.
