About the role
DT Infrastructure, as part of the TasVic Greenlink joint venture with Samsung C&T Corporation Australia, has been awarded the contract to deliver the Balance of Works package for Marinus Link Stage 1.
With a strong pipeline of work in renewable energy projects, we are seeking a high-calibre Senior Industrial Relations Advisor in Leongatha-VIC to join us on this once-in-a-generation project.
Reporting to the Senior People and Capability Manager, you will provide expert guidance on workplace relations matters, ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and best-practice IR strategies while maintaining constructive union relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpret Fair Work legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements to provide authoritative IR advice to project leaders.
- Manage employee and union disputes, grievances, right-of-entry processes, and site consultative committees.
- Assess industrial risk across site operations and develop effective mitigation strategies and consultation plans.
- Lead subcontractor IR meetings, monitor labor hire compliance, and undertake subcontractor payroll audits.
- Maintain project IR documentation, communication lists, and industrial disputation registers.
- Deliver IR skills training to leaders regarding obligations, award interpretation, and employee management.
Experience and capabilities:
- Bachelor's degree or tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an IR advisory role within heavy industry, infrastructure, or complex construction projects.
- Strong working knowledge of contemporary Australian IR legislation, Fair Work Act, modern awards, and EBA interpretation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage union relationships, dispute resolutions, and site-level IR risks effectively.
- High-level negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Proven track record conducting IR risk audits and overseeing subcontractor compliance.
