About the role

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our Rail Maintenance team in Port Hedland, WA.

 

This role is a full time position reporting to the Rail Superintendent, where you will be working predominately on a 2:1 (14 days on/7 days off) FIFO Roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of fixed and mobile rail equipment. 
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities. 
  • Utilise technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to repair and maintain equipment. 
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects. 
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.

About You

  • Hold a current A-Grade Electrical Licence and Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Heavy Mobile Plant technology, or equivalent.
  • Current MR Licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Current Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Rolling Stock experience highly regarded
  • At least 5 years of Experience as a HD Fitter on a FIFO Rail Project
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and controls. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. 
  • Excellent commitment to safety and quality.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and break down support. 
  • A good attitude and strong ‘team player’ with the proven ability to work efficiently with others.
