About the Role:
Due to multiple project awards, DTI are currently looking for Senior Safety Advisors and Safety Advisors to join our WA team.
Based in the Pilbara on a 8:6 (8 days on / 6 days off) FIFO roster, these positions will work collaboratively with the project delivery teams to ensure compliance to DTI policies/procedures and statutory responsibilities across multiple projects. Both day shift and night shift opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support operations to execute DTI and client HSE initiatives.
- Effective implementation of DTI HSE policy, procedures & standards through training, coaching and regular communication.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and assist with solution development and implementation.
- Coach and support local managers to develop and review HSE management plans and risk registers, consistent with site/project needs.
- Coach operational teams with sub-contractor management requirements including review of SWMS, ATWPs, completion of DTI and site inductions, participation in pre-starts, conduct of daily plant check sheets and compliance with HSEMPs.
- Collaborate with management and staff to promote a positive health and safety culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the Tier 1 construction industry, preferably with experience dealing with WA resource clients.
- Able to evaluate information quickly, identifying key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience and common sense.
- Ability to work under broad direction, exercise initiative and be innovative in the approach to problem solving.
- Certificate IV Training and Assessing or similar desirable
- Lead ICAM Incident Investigation or similar required
