Job Summary
The Junior Architect will support the architectural team in the design, planning, coordination, and implementation of the Penang LRT Project. The role involves assisting in the development of architectural drawings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. The Junior Architect will contribute to ensuring that architectural deliverables are completed on time, accurately documented, and meet the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Assist in preparing presentation materials, architectural concepts, design layouts, and plans for LRT stations and associated facilities.
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and transit‑related regulatory requirements.
Project Support
- Support the senior architects and project managers in the planning and coordination of architectural projects.
- Assist in the development of project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor project progress and report any issues to the senior team members.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Provide technical support.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams.
- Arrange and organize meetings
Quality Control and Compliance
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure construction work aligns with design specifications and quality standards.
- Review drawings, reports, submissions, specifications, design changes and modifications as required.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including design plans, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
- Assist in preparing project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage and update project files and records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
