About the role
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Mechanical Fitters to join our Plant Maintenance team working on the maintenance of fixed and mobile rail equipment in Henderson, WA.
This role is a full time position reporting to the Plant Manager, where you will be working predominately Monday-Friday. Some travel is required to service repairs in the field (working away allowances will be paid). Regular overtime provided and optional weekend work is available.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of fixed and mobile rail equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and safety of all equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
- Utilise technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to repair and maintain equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
About You
- Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter or Equivalent with 2-3 years of experience (preferred).
- Current MR Licence (preferred but not essential).
- Current Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).
- Rolling Stock experience highly regarded.
- Any Boilermakers with Mechanical experience will be considered
- Experience working on heavy mobile equipment, trucks and diesel engines.
- Basic hydraulic knowledge.
- Track Machine experience preferred (training will be provided if you do not have it)
- Strong fault-finding skills and break down support.
- A good attitude and strong ‘team player’ with the proven ability to work efficiently with others.
- Able to work unsupervised and away from home.
