About the role
We are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitters to join our Plant Maintenance team working on the maintenance of fixed and mobile rail equipment in Port Hedland, WA.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is a full-time position on a 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth working alongside our North West Rail team in providing expertise in rail maintenance for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of fixed and mobile rail equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and safety of all equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
- Utilise technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to repair and maintain equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
Experience and capabilities
- Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in similar role (FIFO exp preferred).
- Current MR & Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).
- Rolling Stock experience highly regarded. Boilermakers with Mechanical experience will be considered.
- Experience working on heavy mobile equipment, trucks and diesel engines.
- Point of hire as WA.
- Track Machine experience preferred (training will be provided if you do not have it)
- Strong fault-finding skills and break down support.
