About the role

We are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitters to join our Plant Maintenance team working on the maintenance of fixed and mobile rail equipment in Port Hedland, WA.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is a full-time position on a 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth working alongside our North West Rail team in providing expertise in rail maintenance for our clients. 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of fixed and mobile rail equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and safety of all equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
• Utilise technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to repair and maintain equipment.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.

Experience and capabilities

• Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience in similar role (FIFO exp preferred).
• Current MR & Forklift Licence (preferred but not essential).
• Rolling Stock experience highly regarded. Boilermakers with Mechanical experience will be considered.
• Experience working on heavy mobile equipment, trucks and diesel engines.
• Point of hire as WA.
• Track Machine experience preferred (training will be provided if you do not have it)
• Strong fault-finding skills and break down support.
