The Role


We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Health & Safety Administrator to join our project team in the NSW Upper Hunter Valley. In this critical role, you will be the administrative backbone of our HSE operations, ensuring our safety protocols are communicated, documented, and upheld. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary site teams to integrate quality, environment, and safety procedures, fostering a culture where safety always comes first.
This is a site-based position on a major renewable energy construction project in the Upper Hunter Valley, with a rostered working arrangement (14/7), with accommodation and allowances provided as applicable. 

 

  • HSE Administration & Documentation
  • Ensure all HSE-related documentation is safely stored and systematically organized in compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Manage the proper documentation of all safety-related communications, including memos, notices, and bulletins.
  • Support the tracking, logging, and reporting of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Take 5s, and hazard identification forms.
  • Assist in the preparation of Project Plans and JSEAs/SWMS, ensuring they include all necessary safety, quality assurance, and environmental considerations.
  • Ensure all agreed standards, formats, and deliverable timeframes are consistently maintained.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Assist in tracking compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, ensuring timely updates to DTI policies as required.
  • Conduct ongoing risk management and hazard identification processes.
  • Make informed decisions within the guidelines established by DTI policies, practices, procedures, and relevant Awards, Acts, Regulations, and Agreements.
  • Ensure the application of Quality, Environment, and Safety Procedures.
  • Reporting & Data Management
  • Monitor and maintain the HSE data management system to track incidents, near misses, and safety observations.
  • Evaluate inspection and non-conformance reports to recognize and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Assist in managing and reporting safety performance metrics, identifying trends, and highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Prepare accurate and timely narrative monthly reports detailing project movements and progress.

Collaboration & Safety Culture

  • Liaise effectively with supervisors, subcontractors, and employees to guarantee total compliance with safety protocols.
  • Integrate multi-discipline activities to achieve project targets and safety goals.
  • Take reasonable care to ensure your own health and safety at work, while avoiding any act or omission that could adversely affect the safety of others.
  • Actively contribute to delivering a positive, proactive, and secure HSE environment.

About You

•    Experience in an HSE Administrator or similar administrative role within the construction, energy, or engineering sectors
•    Excellent proficiency with data management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and document control platforms.
•    Knowledge of SWMS, Take 5s, risk assessments, and incident reporting procedures.
•    Strong knowledge of HSE practices, compliance, and industry standards.
•    Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of stakeholders.
•    Ability to prioritize and manage multiple administrative tasks within tight deadlines.
