The Role

Working across our national portfolio of projects you will be responsible for leading the design management and technical engineering deliverables including feasibility of identified projects, pre-contract and in project design. This will include:

• Managing a multi-disciplinary team of engineering design managers and engineers including resource planning, recruitment & employee development.
• Responsibility for setting the overall strategy for design management and technical solutions.
• Driving design innovation, value engineering and best practice across projects teams and the broader engineering business.
• Manage the interface with clients, authorities and key stakeholders on design and technical issues.
• Lead the technical and commercial strategy for design including procurement of consultants and design partners.
• Managing our internal interfaces including engagement of our in-house design resources in Malaysia.

Your skills & experience

You will have a tertiary Engineering qualifications and local or international experience working with major construction companies or design consultancies in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects in a national or regional capacity or as an Engineering Director on major projects. Your specific skills and experience will include:

• Successfully leading an Engineering and Design function across major infrastructure projects including road, tunnelling or energy projects.
• Have established relationships with key client stakeholders and leading design consultancies within Australia.
• The ability to think and plan strategically.
• A track record of delivering innovation and efficiencies in the design of major projects.
• A commitment to developing both the technical and personal capability of your team.
