About the Project: Carmody's Hill Wind Farm Project

 

DT Infrastructure has been awarded the full Balance of Plant scope for the Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm project in the Mid North region of South Australia. 

The 256 MW utility-scale wind farm, developed by Aula Energy and Renewable Project Services, is scheduled to commence construction in early 2026, with operations expected to begin in late 2028.

About the Position

 

Join a landmark renewable energy project and take full ownership of Health, Safety and Environmental leadership on site.

 

Reporting to the Project Director and supported by the Regional Health and Safety Manager WA/SA, you’ll drive the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE systems across a complex construction environment. This is a high-impact role where you will influence senior leaders, partner with subcontractors, engage regulators and embed a proactive, best-practice safety culture across the project.

 

You’ll lead incident investigations, audits and risk management strategies while ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, ISO standards and DTI guardrails. Beyond compliance, this role is about visible leadership, collaboration and shaping safe behaviours on a major infrastructure build.

This position is permanent full-time with DTI and you'll have the opportunity to work on future renewable energy projects. This position is a DIDO arrangement 9:5 roster from Adelaide or FIFO 2:1 roster from Western Australia. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead HSE on a landmark renewable energy project shaping South Australia’s clean energy future.
  • Report directly to the Project Director with strong regional HSSE support.
  • Take full ownership of site safety strategy, systems and cultural leadership.
  • Influence senior leaders, subcontractors and regulators in a high-profile environment.
  • Drive proactive risk management, incident investigations and audit programmes.
  • Embed ISO-aligned, best-practice HSE systems across complex construction activities.
  • Play a visible, hands-on leadership role that directly impacts project success.

To be successful:

 

With 10+ years’ experience in construction, infrastructure, mining, oil & gas or similar heavy industry environments, you’ll bring strong contractor management capability, audit and investigation expertise, and the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental Management (or equivalent) (Desirable)
  • Health and Safety Management Lead Investigator qualifications
  • Lead Auditor Qualifications (WHS Management Systems)
  • Diploma of Environmental Management (or equivalent)
  • Diploma of Business (Frontline Management) (or equivalent)
  • Lead Investigator (ICAM)
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in similar role within the construction, Processing, Oil and Gas or Mining operations
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing HSE management systems, and providing guidance and advice to managers and staff regarding best practice HSE and Risk Management matters
