Job Summary

The First Aider - Clubhouse Services is responsible for providing immediate, basic medical attention and support to members, guests, and staff in the event of an injury or sudden illness within the clubhouse premises. This role ensures a rapid and effective initial response to emergencies, maintains first aid supplies, and adheres to established protocols for incident management and reporting. The First Aider plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals, contributing to a secure and supportive environment within the clubhouse. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and effectively to all calls for first aid assistance within the clubhouse and its immediate vicinity. Assess the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses, and administer appropriate basic first aid treatment (e.g., wound care, bandaging, splinting, managing shock, administering CPR/AED if certified). 

  • Stabilize individuals with serious conditions and ensure their comfort until professional medical help arrives. Summon emergency medical services (ambulance, doctor) when necessary, providing clear and concise information. 

  • Maintain and regularly inspect all first aid kits, stations, and designated first aid rooms, ensuring they are fully stocked, clean, and organized. Check expiry dates of medical supplies and arrange for timely replenishment. 

  • Ensure all first aid equipment (e.g., AED, oxygen tanks if applicable) is in good working order and ready for immediate use. Accurately document all incidents, injuries, and first aid administered in detail, including date, time, location, nature of injury/illness, treatment provided, and outcome. 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 

  • Valid and current Advanced First Aid certification (or equivalent, e.g., Occupational First Aid Level 2/3) is mandatory. 

  • Valid and current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certifications are mandatory. 

  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations. 

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to react quickly, calmly, and effectively in emergency situations. 

  • Expert knowledge and practical skills in administering a wide range of first aid treatments. 

  • Strong ability to assess injuries/illnesses accurately and make sound decisions under pressure. 

  • Excellent verbal communication skills for clear instructions, calm reassurance, and effective liaison with emergency services. Good written skills for accurate reporting.
