About the role


We are seeking an experienced Finance Accountant to provide strategic and operational financial support across our business. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a key role in financial control, reporting, commercial analysis, and stakeholder engagement to support successful project delivery and business outcomes. 
 
As Finance Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the financial management of projects and business operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and valuable commercial insights that support decision-making. 
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams in a dynamic project environment. 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
  • Maintain project cost systems and financial records to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist with cost centre management, cost tracking, and change control processes.
  • Support payroll postings, timesheet allocations, and payroll reconciliations.
  • Utilise and support financial reporting tools such as OneStream and BI platforms.
  • Ensure financial reporting meets corporate, statutory, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and project funding requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, governance frameworks, and taxation requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support risk, opportunity, and investment decisions.
  • Contribute to Risk & Opportunity reporting and submissions to joint venture partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

 

  • CA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • 5-10 years of progressive finance experience.
  • Previous experience in a finance role within the construction, infrastructure, engineering, or resources sector.
  • Experience supporting project-based environments and large-scale project delivery.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation experience.
  • Knowledge of financial systems such as:
    • SAP
    • OneStream
    • Concur
    • Corporate Traveller
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
