Job Summary
As a member of the risk management team, the Risk Executive is responsible for implementing established risk management practices across the project lifecycle. The role ensures compliance with contractual obligations and contributes to improving project performance by supporting risk management activities, documentation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Project Risk Management
- Implements risk practices across the project, manages the risk plan, applies ISO 31000, coordinates reviews with management, supports workshops, and participates in audits.
Risk Identification & Mitigation
- Runs regular risk workshops and maintains an accurate, updated project risk register.
Risk Database & Reporting
- Updates the risk database and prepares monthly reports that reflect the latest risk status.
Meeting Coordination & Documentation
- Handles meeting scheduling, agendas, minutes, attendance, and maintains all related records.
Contractor Risk Checklists
- Reviews contractor risk checklists and prepares the required reports.
Risk Management Database Administration
- Manages the risk system, updates software, supports users, trains staff, updates data, and works with tech support.
EDMS / Document Control
- Administers the EDMS and maintains accurate records of all departmental documents and correspondence.
Reporting & Data Management
- Compiles monthly risk reports using team and system data for internal and external stakeholders.
Audit Support
- Prepares and reviews audit documents and supports closing out audit findings.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engages with stakeholders and ensures risk issues and actions are communicated effectively.
Risk Framework Support
- Supports monthly contractor checklists, client submissions, and preparations for internal and external audits.
Additional Responsibilities
- Attends meetings, supports risk activities, and contributes to planning and process improvements.
Qualifications
- BA or BSc first degree in a construction related field and ideally a specific risk management qualification (i.e. from IRM, PMI, etc.)
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to use the risk software tools for Project, MS Excel, and ideally the risk database tool.
Expected Minimum Years of Experience
- Exposure to civil engineering as appropriate for a graduate engineer.
- Exposure to risk management practices in accordance with ISO31000.
- Experience of project management practices including construction works and/or scheduling.
- Experience of the construction project life cycle from inception through to handover.
