Job Description:

About Us
Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor specialising in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of major Transport, Civil, and Energy Infrastructure projects. As a fully integrated energy infrastructure partner, Gamuda provides end-to-end solutions to fund, develop, build, and own assets to accelerate Australia’s transition to clean energy.

We are currently mobilising our project team to deliver one of Victoria’s most significant renewable energy projects in southwest Victoria - an integrated 450 MW solar and 600 MW BESS hybrid project.

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated, site-based Environmental Advisor to join our project delivery team in Southwest Victoria. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, you will play a hands-on, vital role in driving on-site environmental compliance, risk management, and sustainability outcomes across the project footprint.

This role is based on-site on a regular 5:2 roster. Relocation assistance or on-site support will be provided if required.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Support the successful site implementation of the project Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and compliance with environmental approvals.
•    Conduct routine site environmental inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring across multiple active work areas.
•    Monitor the installation and ongoing effectiveness of erosion and sediment controls (ERSED) and other critical site environmental risk controls.
•    Investigate any site environmental incidents, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prepare timely reports.
•    Collate and track environmental performance data, including waste management, water usage, and carbon emissions, to support monthly client and regulatory reporting.
•    Partner closely with site construction teams and subcontractors to provide practical environmental advice and promote a strong, proactive environmental and sustainability culture.
•    Maintain accurate compliance registers and document control to always ensure site audit readiness.

Skills and experience
•    Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
•    Proven experience as an Environmental Advisor or Coordinator, ideally on major civil, infrastructure, or renewable energy construction sites.
•    Strong understanding of Victorian environmental legislation, ERSED management, and waste/incident classification systems.
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
•    A proactive, resilient professional who thrives in a fast-paced site environment and can work autonomously when required.

What we Offer
•    A rare opportunity to build your legacy on a pioneering, large-scale hybrid solar and BESS development.

•    A collaborative and highly professional engineering and delivery team.
•    Technical and leadership career progression opportunities within a rapidly expanding global business.

Gamuda Australia encourages and supports a diverse and inclusive workforce, including those from overseas and current Visa holders.

Unsolicited agency CVs submitted to Gamuda will not be accepted.
