Job Summary
Engineer – Marine, Engineering is responsible for the design, development, analysis, and technical support of marine vessels, offshore structures, and associated systems. This role involves applying advanced marine engineering principles to create safe, efficient, and compliant solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality maritime projects. The Engineer will contribute to all phases of project delivery, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to international maritime codes and standards, and innovative problem-solving in the marine domain.
Key Responsibilities

Perform design calculations and analyses for various marine structures, including ships, boats, offshore platforms, submersibles, and marine systems (e.g., propulsion, power generation, HVAC, piping).

Apply principles of naval architecture, hydrodynamics, stability, structural integrity, and resistance/propulsion.

Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports for marine projects. Design and integrate complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems specific to marine applications.

Ensure compatibility and optimal performance of all integrated systems and ensure all designs and installations comply with international maritime regulations (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), classification society rules (e.g., DNV, Lloyd's Register, ABS), and relevant industry standards.

Stay updated on changes in maritime codes, regulations, and industry best practices and provide technical support during the construction, fabrication, and outfitting phases of marine assets.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or a closely related engineering field from an accredited institution.

Proven experience in marine design, engineering, or shipbuilding.

Proficiency in relevant engineering software, including CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino), FEA (Finite Element Analysis), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), and marine-specific design software (e.g., Maxsurf, NAPA, ShipConstructor).

Strong understanding of maritime regulations and classification society rules.
Skills & Abilities

In-depth knowledge of marine engineering principles, naval architecture, hydrodynamics, structural analysis, propulsion systems, and marine electrical/mechanical systems.

Exceptional ability to analyze complex engineering problems, diagnose issues, and develop effective, safe, and compliant solutions for marine applications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Meticulous in design, calculations, and documentation to ensure accuracy, precision, and compliance with all specifications and codes.
