About the Project:
Gamuda Australia is delivering the Sydney Metro West Stations Package, a major transport infrastructure program transforming how people move across Greater Sydney. The project involves the design and construction of complex underground and surface station precincts, requiring strong multidisciplinary coordination and technical excellence.
We are seeking an Electrical Design Coordinator to join our engineering and design team.
About the Role:
The Electrical Design Coordinator will support the coordination, review and delivery of electrical design packages across multiple station and precinct works. You will work closely with design consultants, construction teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure electrical systems are fully coordinated, compliant and constructible.
This role sits within a fast-paced contractor environment and plays a key part in bridging design and construction to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate electrical design deliverables across station and precinct works
- Manage external electrical design consultants and monitor deliverable progress
- Ensure electrical systems are coordinated with civil, structural, architectural and mechanical disciplines
- Review electrical drawings, specifications and calculations for compliance and constructability
- Support design packages including LV/HV power, lighting, communications, earthing, UPS and station services systems
- Participate in design coordination workshops and technical reviews
- Support RFI responses, shop drawing reviews and design change processes
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure design intent is achieved on site
- Assist in resolving design clashes and multidisciplinary interface issues
- Support testing, commissioning and systems integration activities
- Contribute to value engineering and design optimisation initiatives
About You:
You are a driven electrical engineering professional who enjoys solving complex coordination challenges and working closely with both design and construction teams. You are proactive, detail-focused and comfortable working in a high-pressure infrastructure environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering or electrical design coordination
- Experience on major infrastructure, rail, transport or large-scale building services projects
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and communications
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design packages in a contractor environment
- Ability to review technical documentation and resolve design issues efficiently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with Australian Standards and rail/infrastructure requirements
- BIM/digital engineering experience highly regarded
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia
- White Card (Construction Industry Induction)
- Driver’s licence
