About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Structural Design Manager to lead design delivery across major renewable energy projects in Queensland.

This role will lead mechanical and structural engineering outcomes across utility-scale Solar and BESS developments, managing design consultants, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces and supporting construction delivery across complex renewable infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for driving design optimisation, constructability and technical compliance across the full project lifecycle, while acting as a key interface between engineering, construction and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical and structural design delivery across utility-scale Solar and BESS projects.
  • Manage external engineering consultants, reviewing designs, calculations and technical documentation.
  • Drive design optimisation, value engineering and constructability improvements across project delivery.
  • Coordinate structural, geotechnical and civil interfaces to ensure compliant and efficient engineering outcomes.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including RFIs, site coordination and stakeholder management.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience delivering design management across major renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong utility-scale Solar and/or BESS experience, ideally within EPC project environments.
  • Proven experience managing consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, construction methodologies and renewable energy project delivery.
