About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Manager to lead electrical design across major renewable energy projects in Queensland.
These projects form part of a ~1.8GW solar and battery portfolio, delivering large-scale renewable generation and energy storage to support Queensland’s energy transition.
This is a leadership role where you will take ownership of electrical design across the full project lifecycle. You will manage design consultants, drive integration with construction and ensure delivery of safe, compliant and cost-effective design outcomes aligned with program and budget.
You will play a key role in delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure while leading high-performing teams in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design delivery across large-scale solar and BESS projects.
- Manage design consultants and ensure integration with construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, technical, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Drive value engineering, cost optimisation and design performance outcomes.
- Oversee programme delivery, reporting and stakeholder coordination.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 12+ years’ experience with 3–5 years leading engineering teams.
- Proven experience in solar or renewable energy project delivery.
- Strong understanding of full lifecycle design management in infrastructure.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, leadership and communication skills.
