We are currently delivering the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package and in joint venture partnerships for both the $1.35B Coffs Harbour Bypass and the $1B M1 Motorway Extension Southern Package.

About the role

As the Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful commercial delivery of major construction projects across building and infrastructure sectors. Working closely with project leadership, delivery teams, and key stakeholders, you will be responsible for managing contractual obligations, mitigating risk, and ensuring effective contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

You will provide strategic and operational contract advice, manage key contractual processes, support negotiations, and drive positive commercial outcomes while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company governance frameworks.

Specific activities will include:

  •  Manage the administration and delivery of head contracts and subcontract agreements, ensuring contractual obligations, notices, and requirements are effectively managed.
  • Provide commercial and contractual guidance to project teams, supporting risk identification, mitigation strategies, and improved project outcomes.
  • Review, interpret, and negotiate contractual terms, variations, claims, extensions of time, and other commercial matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of contractual correspondence, notices, reports, and project documentation.
  • Support the resolution of contractual disputes and proactively manage potential claims and commercial risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective procurement, subcontract management, and delivery of project milestones.
  • Mentor and support Contracts Administrators and project team members, promoting best practice contract management processes and governance.

 

Your skills and experience

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience in contracts management within the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Proven experience managing contractual processes including variations, claims, extensions of time, and commercial negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical contractual advice and support project delivery teams.
  • Experience working across complex building, civil, transport, or infrastructure projects (highly regarded).
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Highly organised, commercially minded, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience leading and developing junior commercial and contracts team members.
