About the role

We are seeking an experience Rail Senior Project Manager to strategically support a portfolio of projects and drive our expanding rail project portfolio across Queensland and New South.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager – Rail East, you will lead and empower a dedicated team of project professionals to deliver projects safely, cost-effectively, and in compliance with contract technical specifications and environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and implement comprehensive project execution plans to secure successful outcomes.
• Manage operational budgets, provide accurate monthly forecasting, and report on live project performance.
• Implement immediate corrective measures to address any negative financial variances.
• Lead contract management, resolve commercial disputes, and effectively manage subcontractor claims.
• Identify, log, and develop tender documentation for new rail market opportunities across QLD and NSW.

About you

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Significant, demonstrable success in a project operations management role within Track and Civil rail environments.
• Practical exposure managing Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) works is highly desirable.
• Robust history of commercial tracking, financial risk analysis, and business solution development and pre-contracts support.
• Practical compliance knowledge under the Rail Safety National Law National Regulations.
