Through engineering innovation, collaborative contracting and leading sustainability practices we're unlocking opportunities for a better tomorrow.

About the role

Looking to put your safety expertise to work on a major renewable energy project without leaving the Townsville region?

DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join our team delivering the Majors Creek Project, located near Woodstock, approximately 40km south of Townsville.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you'll provide senior-level safety advice and practical support to construction teams, supervisors and subcontractors. You'll play an important role in implementing project H&S management systems, strengthening risk management practices and ensuring safety remains front of mind throughout construction.

This is a hands-on site role where you'll work closely with frontline leaders to identify and manage risks, conduct inspections and audits, support incident investigations and drive continuous improvement. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor less experienced H&S practitioners and contribute to a positive, proactive safety culture across the project.

About the Majors Creek Project

Be part of one of North Queensland’s major renewable energy projects, right on Townsville’s doorstep and on the traditional lands of the Bindal People. Located near Woodstock, approximately 40km south of Townsville, the Majors Creek Project is being delivered by DT Infrastructure for Edify Energy.

The project forms part of a major solar and battery storage energy development that will deliver renewable generation and large-scale battery storage to support Queensland’s future energy needs. With construction expected to create around 400 jobs and significant investment flowing through local businesses and suppliers, Majors Creek is creating exciting opportunities for the Townsville region.

For Townsville locals, this is an opportunity to work on a major renewable energy project close to home, while contributing to Queensland’s clean energy future.

  • Deliver safety training, inductions and awareness initiatives while coaching frontline leaders and mentoring less experienced H&S practitioners
  • Monitor H&S performance, prepare reports and work collaboratively with project teams to drive compliance, risk reduction and continuous improvement

About You

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Health, Safety & Environment, Business or a related discipline, with a Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in an H&S practitioner role, including relevant experience within construction, infrastructure or renewable energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, contractor management, risk assessment and the implementation of safety management systems
