About the role

DT Infrastructure is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering governance, technical assurance and design management across major infrastructure projects within our Queensland operations.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will drive engineering excellence across pre-contract and project delivery phases, ensuring strong technical outcomes, compliance and commercial performance across rail, infrastructure, roads and renewable energy projects.

This role requires a well-connected engineering leader with strong relationships across the consulting market and the ability to lead collaborative teams across both onshore and offshore environments. You will work closely with clients, consultants and delivery teams to manage technical risk, strengthen engineering capability and support successful project delivery across complex Design & Construct projects.

You will also play a key role in maintaining Accredited Engineering Organisation (AEO) principles and ensuring compliance with relevant statutory engineering registration requirements including RPEQ, NER and equivalent frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering management and technical assurance activities across major infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee design planning, integration and engineering governance throughout project delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with consultants, clients, government authorities and delivery partners.
  • Drive engineering quality, audit processes, continuous improvement and compliance initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams while strengthening capability, systems and performance outcomes.

About you

  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline with relevant professional registrations highly regarded.
  • 12+ years’ post graduate experience, including significant leadership experience managing engineering teams within major infrastructure or construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering, design management, technical assurance and rail or infrastructure safety frameworks.
  • Proven experience delivering complex Design & Construct infrastructure projects through all phases of delivery.
  • Collaborative leader with strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management skills and a passion for safety, quality and high-performing teams.
