About the role

We are seeking a high-performing Rail Project Manager to successfully lead the delivery of rail infrastructure contracts. This role offers an opportunity to manage critical civil and rail integration works for the landmark Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) project, while supporting an expanding project portfolio across New South Wales and Queensland.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive Project Execution Plans (PEP) and map baseline schedules outlining critical paths in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Lead high-risk railway occupations/possessions and long shutdowns using countdown meetings and hour-by-hour shutdown plans.
  • Oversee procurement, closely monitor project costs, and execute corrective actions for any budget deviations.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, finalize scope/interface agreements, and proactively minimize subcontract claims.
  • Create comprehensive Rights and Obligations documents and supply robust financial risk analysis.
  • Cultivate long-term strategic alliances with clients, key suppliers and subcontractors.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Track Safe Working Certification (or verified capability to acquire it quickly).
  • Proven record in Track and Civil rail infrastructure environments.
  • Experience managing Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) works is highly desirable.
  • Experience with infrastructure tender development and project programming. 
  • Strong leadership capability to handle geographically dispersed teams and blue-collar workforces.
