About the role
DT Infrastructure is seeking a Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join our team delivering the Smoky Creek Solar Farm project near Westwood, Queensland.
Operating on a 2:1 FIFO roster from Brisbane with full camp accommodation provided, this role will support the successful delivery of mechanical construction works across one of Queensland's major renewable energy projects. Working closely with the Mechanical Package Manager, site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders, you will play a key role in coordinating construction activities, managing project performance and ensuring delivery objectives are achieved safely, on time and within budget.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to develop their career on a large-scale renewable energy project while gaining exposure to complex infrastructure delivery in a growing sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate and administer mechanical construction activities to achieve project delivery objectives
• Monitor project performance, programme and productivity while supporting safe and efficient site operations
• Coordinate subcontractors, technical stakeholders and project teams to achieve successful project outcomes
• Assist with project reporting, forecasting, budgeting, claims and variation management
• Interpret engineering designs and contribute to practical construction and delivery solutions
• Support compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements and DTI management systems
About You
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years' experience in construction or infrastructure projects
• Previous Project Engineer or Site Engineer experience within construction, energy, resources or major projects environments
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery and contractor management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
• Well-developed planning, organisation and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to delivery
• A team-focused mindset with a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
