We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity in the Rockhampton Region of Queensland, specifically in Westwood, located 40 km southwest of Rockhampton. We are seeking an Environmental Advisor for the Boulder Creek Wind Farm project. In this role, you will provide professional and expert advice to project managers, senior operational management, and our clients. You will support key site environment and zero-harm personnel in creating a safe work environment, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that project teams comply with environmental regulations and sustainability requirements.

This role is open to local candidates who reside full-time in the area, as well as candidates who are willing to work on a FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) basis. For FIFO candidates, you ideally should live in Queensland.

ROSTER -  2 weeks on and 1 week off. (Travel to the site is on your time, and travel back home is on DTI time, Tuesday/Tuesday).

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide consistent support and delivery of environmental and sustainable-related information via regular engagement and minuted meetings.
  • Engage appropriate stakeholders in environment and sustainability discussion as necessary and maintaining consultative processes.
  • Implement project-specific programs and other approved deliverables in a controlled manner.
  • Coordinate environmental responses to tender questionnaires, schedules, and key deliverables as requested by estimating bid teams.
  • Review contractor environmental plans or instruct on DTI requirements.
  • Assist in developing and rolling out business improvement programs.
  • Propose innovative improvement programs that are cost-effective and appropriate for the current business climate.
  • Implementation of the environmental management plans and monitoring compliance of the plans.
  • Management of data and registers for compliance and sustainability purposes.
  • Day to day field inspections and working closely with ground supervisors to ensure compliance with management plans and site initiatives.
  • Investigation of environmental incidents and implementing corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering/ Environmental Management or similar
  • Proven experience in an equivalent Environmental Compliance or Environmental Management role, ideally project-based.
  • Demonstrated success in providing environmental initiatives and achieving environmental outcomes as part of a team.
