About the role

Be part of one of North Queensland’s major renewable energy projects, right on Townsville’s doorstep and on the traditional lands of the Bindal People. Located near Woodstock, approximately 40km south of Townsville, the Majors Creek Project is being delivered by DT Infrastructure for Edify Energy.

The project forms part of a major solar and battery storage energy development that will deliver renewable generation and large-scale battery storage to support Queensland’s future energy needs. With construction expected to create around 400 jobs and significant investment flowing through local businesses and suppliers, Majors Creek is creating exciting opportunities for the Townsville region.

For Townsville locals, this is an opportunity to work on a major renewable energy project close to home, while contributing to Queensland’s clean energy future.

FIFO opportunities are also available from Queensland home ports to Townsville.

As Area Manager (Civil), you will take a leading role in the planning, coordination and delivery of the project’s civil works, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required time, cost, quality and regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will lead the delivery of your area across the project lifecycle, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams to ensure seamless interfaces and successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of civil works to meet program, budget, quality and safety objectives.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and project interfaces to ensure efficient delivery.
• Manage project resources, schedules, budgets, subcontractors and performance across your area.
• Drive strong HSE, quality, risk and compliance outcomes, ensuring a “first time right” approach.
• Build effective relationships with the client, project team, subcontractors and suppliers while resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in project or operational management within civil construction, infrastructure, energy or similar major projects.
• Proven leadership capability, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, contracts, project risks and performance.
• Well-developed planning, programming, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisive decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
