About the role
Based between our head office and tender offices, you will play a key role in developing high-quality, persuasive tender submissions that clearly articulate win themes and client value. Using your strong writing expertise, you will help shape compelling, client-focused content in close collaboration with technical teams and key stakeholders.
You will also contribute to improving content quality, consistency, and internal writing capability across the business.
Specific activities will include:
- Lead and coordinate content development for tender submissions, client presentations, and interactive bid processes
- Analyse tender requirements to develop clear response strategies, structure, and key messaging aligned to win themes
- Write, refine, and edit high-quality content, translating complex technical information into clear and compelling narratives
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, bid managers, and technical teams to develop accurate and persuasive submission content
- Develop, maintain, and improve a centralised content library, including case studies, project examples, CVs, and standard responses
- Review and proofread submissions to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and alignment with brand tone
- Contribute to bid kick-offs, strategy sessions, and post-submission reviews to support continuous improvement
Your skills and experience
You are a confident, detail-driven Bid Writer who thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments. You combine strong writing ability with commercial awareness and the confidence to influence stakeholders and shape high-quality submissions.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, business, or a related discipline
- At least 4 years’ experience in bid or tender writing, ideally within civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure
- Strong ability to translate complex technical information into clear, persuasive written content
- Excellent grammar, editing, and proofreading skills with a high attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with InDesign, Illustrator, or SharePoint is highly regarded
- A collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills across multidisciplinary teams
