Job Summary

The Safety & Health Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety and health programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves conducting safety inspections, investigating accidents and incidents, developing safety training programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations. The Officer will work closely with various departments to promote a safety-conscious culture and prevent workplace hazards. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor the contractor’s safety and health management, ensure contractor adhere with legal and TC
SHE requirement.
2. Conduct routine site inspection to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
3. Advise TC to facilitating internal and external audits as required.
4. Supervise, guide and coordinate the activities of Site Safety Supervisor.
5. Collaborate with PMD team and contractor to perform HIAROC
6. Review contractor’s HIAROC & JSA according to method statement.
7. Involve in contractor’s incident management
8. Review contractor report and provide accurate records of HSE data, incident and compliance (NOI,
NOP etc).
9. Assisting in developing and delivering HSE training program to TC and contractor if required.
10. Member of HSE campaign to promote safety culture among employees through regular
communication and awareness programs.
11. Assist to liaise with external authorities such as CIDB, DOSH and local authority.
12. Act as the TC primary point of contract during safety inspection and audit conducted by authorities.
13. Coordination with Environmental team to assist in environmental compliance on-site
14. Interface and coordinate among contractors in site safety compliance.
15. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the management.
16. To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related
to the job scope and work place as required by the company

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, or a related field. 

  • Must be certified as SHO by DOSH with valid Green Book.
  • Relevant safety certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), are preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards. 

  • Ability to identify and assess workplace hazards. 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
